چکیده
Stellate sturgeon (Acipenser stellatus) is a species of great conservation concern throughout its range. Over the past century, it has experienced dramatic decline in abundance and distribution Black Sea basin. Information regarding genetic structure very limited region, despite crucial importance for developing adequate management plans species’ recovery. Samples from 163 A. stellatus were analysed using mitochondrial microsatellite DNA markers to investigate characteristics north-western southern Sea. Both revealed high diversity (153 haplotypes 264 alleles) low differentiation marine freshwater catches. The population undergoing slight demographic expansion after bottleneck event induced by overfishing dam constructions. indicates single cluster region signs admixture two clusters region. It also provides first evidence remnant reproductive stellate micro-population rivers Turkey Georgia. A fishing ban stocking activities carried out during last decades, largely without any prior assessment populations, added little value. Outreach initiatives urgent actions are required foster recovery this Critically Endangered Reconstruction connectivity enhancement habitats spawning grounds beneficial all species. An ex-situ programme Turkish which flow into would be help conserve resources until migration routes become functional. Moreover, screening recruitment programmes must functional flowing

Population genetic structure of critically endangered salamander (Hynobius amjiensis) in China: recommendations for conservation.
Amji's salamander (Hynobius amjiensis) is a critically endangered species (IUCN Red List), which is endemic to mainland China. In the present study, five haplotypes were genotyped for the mtDNA cyt b gene in 45 specimens from three populations. Relatively low levels of haplotype diversity (h = 0.524) and nucleotide diversity (π = 0.00532) were detected. Analyses of the phylogenic structure of H...
